Intro to Belay Escapes

Your climber is hurt and/or stuck, you can't lower them back to the ground, you need to go get help... but how?

Belay escapes are an essential part of a climber's rescue skill set. Allowing a belayer to transfer a live belay to another climber or anchor point.

This 1.5 hour course will cover:

  • Unloaded belay escapes and transfers

  • Loaded belay escapes and transfers

  • Basic equipment all climbers should carry.

Belay Escapes is the first in a series of rescue and trouble shooting classes Matt will be teaching this winter season.

  • Different types of friction hitches

  • How to set up the rope to rappel

  • Hands-on practice rappelling off of our bouldering terrain

Level Up Lead Course

This course is for lead climbers who have possibly plateaued or are looking for new methods to find some gains in their climbing. In the pursuit of progression, finding new perspectives on strategy and training can be the answer.

This 1.5hr course will cover:

  • Mental strategies on how to approach a climb

  • Advice for on the wall recovery and head game

  • Training tips on building lead endurance

  • Personal feedback
